Week of September 1st

The air is cooler in the morning, school is back, and soccer is in full effect. which means dinner is eaten at various times and often earlier that I would like. We are also in peak produce in the Northeast- so many good things to eat in so little time, my favorite problem. I made a few things to use up the extra fruit- like the above blueberry jam that I added to overnight oats for the week. I also made the NYT plum torte which lived up to its hype.

Monday - Caesar salad and air fried salmon.

Tuesday- zucchini lasagna from Julius Roberts’ instagram. I try to make this once a summer and I had to make sure I got it in. I love it but my kids are not super into it.

Wednesday- Whole foods tandoori marinated chicken cooked with chickpeas, greens, and rice.

Thursday- brussels sprout tacos from a pinch of yum recipe. My kids requested this and it is a huge favorite.

Friday - football game going kids needed pizza on their way out so we order from our favorite local place, Mothers pizza. the greek salad with chicken is my absolute favorite.

Saturday- My husband and oldest braved a Saturday afternoon at Costco and brought home the chicken taco kit and it is always so good, I wish I could buy the cilantro sauce.

Sunday- This time of year when we rarely have family dinner, I like to lean in when i can. I had everyone home for dinner and it was rainy- so my jam for an evening of cooking. So I made a beef shank sauce with caramelized onion and sweet italian sausage over pasta. It was so delicious! I made a mix of this recipe and this Milk Street kitchen recipe , I apologize for the price walled recipe, I had seen it in a cookbook I got from the library.
