Week of Nov 3rd
Hi Planners and eaters, did you eat anything delicious this week? I was lucky to get a bit of farm produce this week from my farm co op, but have been adjusting to having to not plan my week around those local vegetables. In my house we are in a bit of a lull in sports so it has been great to have a few more family dinners. I am also starting to dream about the upcoming holidays and what I want to make for those, maybe do a few try outs for dishes. Any suggestions?
Monday- I got the Ottolenghi cookbook, Comfort, out of the library and spotted this dish nuoc cham meatballs- We ate them as a filling for summer rolls and they were amazing.
Tuesday- Fajitas, tried the skirt steak from Tendercrop farm, it was great.
Wednesday- We are entering soup season- Chicken noodle Soup. My favorite thing to do this time of year is to buy yesterdays rotisserie chicken and make stock for week from it, plus chicken sandwiches.
Thursday- I went to see Kate Baer talk about her new book, How About Now. Friends and I stopped at Eastern Standard for a bite to eat first and it was perfect. Had the green curry mussels with a side of fries.
Friday- Air fryer salmon is one of favorite things. I topped some with mayo and buffalo sauce and some with mayo and zhoug- both were good. Served with rice and carrot salad.
Saturday- Trader joes carne asada on the grill for tacos.
Sunday- Homemade pizzas. We did a dough off between the trader joes garlic herb dough and the pizza dough from our local JP Pace, both were winners but the Pace’s one may be my new favorite. I may never make dough again.
What are you planning to eat this week?
